Does anyone other than Oregon want to compete with Alabama for a national title this season? Top five teams must have some sort of mythical curse or something. West Virginia, a week after taking down Texas, was ambushed by Texas Tech. Not only did the Red Raiders probably wreck the likelihood of Mountaineers quarterback Geno Smith Heisman chances, but they took away the hope of a BCS title run.
Last night, The South Carolina Gamecocks could not keep their unbeaten season rolling, falling to LSU 23-21. The Death Valley crowd was rocking the stadium, and their offense awakened to actually put up a few touchdowns. The Tigers D looked good against a stout South Carolina offense, and made a case for another push towards the top of the national rankings.
Alabama rolled Missouri in Columbia 42-10, and Oregon State stayed perfect taking down BYU 42-24, cementing their position as the PAC 12′s second best team. USC went scoreless in the second half, but held on to defeat Washington at The Clink.
The most surprising story of this season might be Notre Dame, who has yet to allow a rushing touchdown in 2012. Manti Te’o is rising on The Fansided Radio Heisman Watch, and probably on NFL Draft Boards.
Oklahoma and Florida State are making cases to push their way back into BCS Title contention. The Sooners ruined The Texas State Fair with a brutal beating of Texas 63-21, while Florida State punished Boston College 51-7.
The FanSided Radio Top 25, as a result of upsets, combacks, overtime and lackluster performances have shaken up the landscape. The top two teams remain the same, as for the rest…
