2013 Outlook: Bringing in Josh Hamilton from rival Texas was big for the Los Angeles Angels. His production value is huge, and adding his big bat will benefit their run production. With a lineup that already boasts Albert Pujols, Mark Trumbo, Mike Trout, and Howard Kendrick, this will be one of the best offensive teams in Major League Baseball.
Manager Mike Scioscia will have his work cut out for him in 2013. Los Angeles will need to get the most out of Jared Weaver, C.J. Wilson, Joe Blanton, Jason Vargas, and Tommy Hansen. The AL West is loaded at the top with Texas and Oakland both having solid bats. The loss of Zach Greinke could be the lynchpin that the Halo’s lack this season.
The Los Angeles Angels should be in the mix both in the AL West and for a World Series banner. If they don’t, you might see this team blown up. One of the highest payrolls in Major League Baseball does not guarantee success, just ask Boston, the Cubs, and Dodgers. Look for the Angels to win the division, but fall short of winning a ring. This could be Mike Scioscia’s last rodeo as skipper in L.A.
