2013 Outlook: To say that the Cleveland Indians are improved would be a great understatement. While we named the key players that the team added in the offseason, Manager Terry Francona might be the best acquisition any team made. His baseball IQ is incredibly high, and the front office gave him some great pieces to work with.
Bringing in Bourn and Swisher gives this lineup a ton of pop. Factor in catcher Carlos Santana and Asdrubal Cabrera to the mix, and you have one hell of a lineup. It has speed, power, average, and the defense will be phenomenal. Position by position, this team will be a contender in the AL Central.
While the rotation might be a bit young, it has the potential to be good. With Justin Masterson the likely ace, you know he will provide quality innings. The X Factor of this staff will be Ubaldo Jimenez. If he can become the pitcher he once was, the Cleveland Indians could have one of the better one-two punches in the American League.
2013 Outlook: Clearly the Indians are an improved baseball team. Catching the Kansas City Royals for a third place finish is not out of the question, but not likely.Expect a slow start from the Cleveland Indians, but don’t be surprised if they play spoiler late in the season. They are just a few pieces from becoming a playoff contender.
