Final: Marquette 71  Miami 61

The Miami Hurricanes magical season has come to an end. The Marquette Golden Eagles proved to be too much for the Canes, slashing the court and any hopes Miami had for a national title run.

Marquette was led by Vander Blue, Davante Gardner, and Jamil Wison, who combined for 44 points. From the opening tip, the Golden Eagles controlled the tempo and scoring. They went into halftime with a 29-16 lead and were never really challenged by Miami throughout the second half.

Marquette moves on to the Elite Eight where they will face the winner of tonight’s Indiana/Syracuse matchup.

The Miami Hurricanes finish their best season ever with a 29-7 record.
