The Indiana Hoosiers fell to the Syracuse Orange 61-50 in the Sweet 16. A horrid first half put the Hoosiers in a 12 point hole, and Indiana could not dig themselves out.
The Syracuse Orange smothered Indiana with a zone defense that often confused them. Victor Oladipo and Cody Zeller both struggle to get open looks, and turnovers plagued them. Oladipo led the Hoosiers in scoring with 16 points. Zeller finished the game one rebound shy of a double-double. Indiana finished the season as Big Ten regular season Champions with a 29-7 record.
Syracuse had no issues scoring, other than the opening minutes of the second half. Three Orange players scored in double digits, with Michael Carter-Williams leading the way with 24 points, 6 rebounds, and 4 steals. Brandon Triche added 14 points with C.J. Fair going for 11 points and 8 rebounds on the night.
The Syracuse Orange will now prepare for one last Big East showdown with Marquette in the Elite 8.
