We have all heard it in arenas and stadiums playing during pre game warmups. We have heard it played in movies and on various youtube videos, and for good reason. ACDC’s “For Those About to Rock” is a timeless classic that is hard to tune out when played.
When you think about it, the title itself can be translated in many forms. You don’t have to have a guitar in order to rock. Something spoken, a great jump shot, or just getting the job done can be considered rocking.
Last night, for example, Carmelo Anthony rocked his team to the second round of the NBA Playoffs with 21 points, 7 rebounds and five assists. In a game where the Knicks once led by as many as 26 points, they allowed the Boston Celtics to pull within four with less than five minutes to play. Anthony led New York’s late charge to fend off the Celtics and advance to take on The Indiana Pacers.
For the first time in what seems to be a generation (my oldest daughter was born the year of their last playoff series win) The New York Knicks have moved past the first round of the playoffs. For that reason, Knicks, we salute you.
