Carmelo Anthony and the New York Knicks were the favorites in their second round matchup against the Indiana Pacers in the NBA Playoffs. Melo had already gotten over the hump by beating Boston in the first round, and many expected New York to get by the Pacers en route to an Eastern Conference Finals showdown with LeBron James and the Miami Heat.

The Indiana Pacers never got that memo. They have taken a three games to one lead over the Knicks, and can close the series out on Thursday night at Madison Square Garden. The Pacers have been led by Paul George, who’s 17 points and 8 rebounds per game have been hard earned.

What we are seeing is the emergence of a future NBA Championship Contender in Indiana. Looks like college hoops are not the only show in town anymore. Alternative Wednesday matches a song from the Alt Rock world with a sports performance. Last night the Indiana Pacers decided to not only beat the Knicks, but “Light Em Up” as well.
