The New York Knicks and Golden State Warriors are down to their last breaths. Both teams face elimination tonight against the Indiana Pacers and San Antonio
Spurs respectively. With Oklahoma City and Chicago both going down last night, half of the conference championship equation is complete.
Carmelo Anthony and his New York Knicks are down but not necessarily out. Winning three games in a row is tough, but two of those three would be played at Madison Square Garden. If Melo can get some, hell, any help, the Knicks have a fighters chance.
When it comes to Golden State, they will need more of a miracle. While Stephen Curry and the Warriors are much younger and more dynamic than the Spurs, San Antonio has been to the mountain top before. Greg Popovich will come up with a winning game plan, and might end Golden State’s 2013 season.
Even while watching the two games last night, especially when the Thunder made their fourth quarter push, “Stayin Alive” kept swirling around my head. No, not the Bee Gees classic, but a cover done by Wyclef Jean in 1997. Think about it, the Bee Gees would not have fit on Hip Hop Thursday. Wyclef, on the other hand, makes perfect sense. Who knows, maybe the Knicks or Warriors win tonight and it will be playing in your head as well.
