The Onside Kick: Chris Paul Decides To Stay With The Los Angeles Clippers

It was announced on Monday that Chris Paul has verbally agreed to a five-year, $107 million contract extension to remain with the Los Angeles Clippers. He cannot sign his new contract until July 10, but could agree to terms as of Monday at 12:01 a.m. ET.

Some thought that Paul was going to go to the Atlanta Hawks wih Dwight Howard simalarly to how the Miami Heat created their Big 3. However, Paul set all the rumors to rest by having his reps say he wasn’t leaving LA on Sunday and then agreeing to a five-year contract extension on Monday.

Tell us what you think down below. Was Chris Paul smart in staying with the Clippers before hearing other offers? Are the Clippers championship ready with CP3 and Doc Rivers or do they need to make more moves?
