The Onside Kick: Jim Irsay Trash Talks Peyton Manning

Mar 7, 2012; Indianapolis, IN, USA; Indianapolis Colts quarterback Peyton Manning (left) speaks during a press conference as owner Jim Irsay looks on during a press conference to announce Manning

Earlier this week, Indianapolis Colts owner Jim Irsay made some comments that could be seen as him taking shots at former Colts quarterback Peyton Manning before the Colts honor Peyton this Sunday night as they host the Denver Broncos.

Irsay told USA Today that the team has a new model around quarterback Andrew Luck because he would like “more than one of these [rings].”

Irsay said:

“[Tom] Brady never had consistent numbers, but he has three of these [rings]. Pittsburgh had two, the Giants had two, Baltimore had two and we had one. That leaves you frustrated. You make the playoffs 11 times, and you’re out in the first round seven out of 11 times. You love to have the ‘Star Wars’ numbers from Peyton and Marvin [Harrison] and Reggie [Wayne]. Mostly, you love this [ring].”

Ricky Widmer of The Onside Kick talks about the recent comments made by Jim Irsay. He also goes into depth on the Colts playoff past to prove that the teams fault might not have been all on Peyton.

Tell us what you think down below. What do you think of the comments made by Jim Irsay and what do think will happen in the Sunday Night game between Denver and Indy?
